Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Extended Project

What is the Course About?

The Edexcel Level 3 Extended Project is a stand-alone qualification equivalent to half an A level.

The EPQ is an extended exercise using in-depth research and analysis, based around a topic of your choosing with a large focus on independent learning.

The Level 3 Extended Project has been designed so that you can choose an area that either extends or expands on your previous studies, or a topic that you have a personal interest in or passion for.

This is a part-time Course, start-date to be confirmed.

You will be required to attend lessons for the underpinning skills and knowledge. You will then receive regular supported from your tutor/assessor whilst you complete your Project independently.

How useful is the qualification to me?

The Project qualification at Level 3 will allow you to learn more about an area that interests you, and:

• develop skills

• allow you to get more UCAS points (up to a maximum of 28 points)

• teach you skills that will help in higher education or the workplace

• allow you to research a subject that might not be available through other qualifications

• develop independent research and project management skills.

How will I be assessed?

There are no exams!

Instead, you will produce one piece of coursework that will be marked by tutors at UCM and then sent to Edexcel to be moderated.

You are marked on your ability to plan, manage, complete and review your project.
