Have your say at the Isle of Man Government Youth Impact Summit!
On Wednesday (20th September) the Isle of Man Government is holding the first Youth Impact Summit which is an exciting opportunity for you to hear about what the future of the Isle of Man has to offer for you and importantly for you to share your views on what you want from the Island. All 16 – 18 year old students across the Island, whether that’s at a school’s sixth form or at UCM, are being invited.
It’s also a fantastic opportunity for you to build employability skills by having encounters with the world of work and attending a conference (make sure you add it to you CV!).
If you’re a level 3 student on a technical course you’ll have been notified by your tutor (we’ll also be sending you a text) that instead of attending your lectures at UCM that day you need to make your way to the Villa Marina. Here’s some of the exciting things you can look forward to:
9.30am – Register at the Villa Marina look out for the UCM flag if you’re unsure where to go
10am - Welcome from the Chief Minister, Alred Cannan MHK
10.05am - Inspirational Islanders Three panel sessions featuring some of this year's Gef 20Under 30 winners
10.50am - The Secrets to Success What is success? Hear from local business people about their route to success
11.20am - Mindcore: Winning the World Hear from team Mindcore about their innovative idea which won 'Innovation of the Year' at the Junior Achievement Europe awards
11.40am - Hear about UCM Students' experience with their courses and the opportunities for students
11.45am - Lunch Lunch will be included!
12.40pm - AI-Volution: The Future of Work Learn about the importance of human values in the future of work
1.10pm - Skillscape: Careers of the Future Understanding the skills students need for the future, delivered by Locate Isle of Man
1.35pm - Closing Address Hear from the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, Julie Edge MHK
2pm – you’re free to head home
