Latest update

We’re pleased that our campuses are open and teaching is running as normal.

We are working closely with the Department of Education, Sport and Culture (DESC), Isle of Man (IOM) Government and Public Health to ensure we take every precaution to maintain the health and safety of our students and staff. The following mitigations are in place:

  • Anyone experiencing symptoms, who have a positive lateral flow or are self-isolating should not visit UCM.
  • Face coverings are strongly recommended. Face masks are available at the entrance and visors are available at reception at the Homefield Road campus.
  • Windows remain open where possible and there are air purifiers in classrooms. We recommend that students wear appropriate clothing to keep warm.
  • UCM students and staff should carry out lateral flow tests at least twice a week before coming in.
  • Hand sanitiser stations are located throughout our campuses.

Exams

All exams are currently running as normal.

Please note the following instructions when attending the exam centre.

  • Do not attend if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 (a high temperature, a new and continuous cough, a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste).
  • Please wash your hands when entering and exiting the building.
  • PPE equipment is available if required, including hand sanitiser.

Leisure course students

We’re pleased to be continuing with our leisure course and adult learning programme. We understand that some people may be nervous of being in crowded places. The below mitigations are in place for our leisure courses:

  • Small class sizes enabling students to distance from one another.
  • Anyone experiencing symptoms, who have a positive lateral flow or are self-isolating should not attend.
  • All students, staff and visitors are being encouraged to wear face coverings.

Stay safe and care for one another.
