A message from the Principal

Welcome to University College Isle of Man’s (UCM) website.

Recently, we have experienced significant disruption to our way of life and to our education and training.  Over the last few months, staff have responded and adapted to new ways of teaching very quickly and we remain committed to supporting the Island’s economy, the aspirations of our communities and of course their wellbeing.

At UCM we say that everyone matters, and we are really pleased that you have, or are considering us, to help you achieve your ambitions. We strive to be an education and training provider that inspires and empowers people to realise their ambitions.

Whether you are a school leaver who is visiting our website to pursue further and potentially higher education, an employee looking to explore pathways which may enable you to enhance your professional skillset or someone who is simply interested in learning a new activity through one of our many leisure courses, we hope that here, all of your questions can be answered.

We recognise the importance of a local education which offers opportunities to students, regardless of their background, age, gender or race. Our close ties with local businesses, form valuable relationships which have a formative influence on the courses taught at UCM, ensuring all students are well prepared to compete in the job market.

This year, we were happy to announce our renewed higher education partnership with the University of Chester. With 87% of our Higher Education graduates achieving first or upper second-class degrees, this is ten percent higher than the national UK average of 76% (Higher Education Statistics Agency 2017/2018), working together we can continue to provide local students with an engaging and stimulating learning experience.

Together, we are facing the future with an overwhelming sense of optimism and positivity and we welcome you to our UCM learning community.

The future is yours.
