Research

At UCM, we're proud to have a wide range of research events and initiative.

Research Vannin

Research Vannin is a hub to support and develop the conduct and value of research on the Isle of Man.

Our goal is to facilitate collaboration between on and off-Island researchers, promote the reputation of island-based research, and educate through the provision workshops and in the future, with an online repository of Isle of Man focused research papers and reports.

The Research Festival

Every year we hold The Research Festival which offers students, independent researchers and guests alike the opportunity to listen to presentations, participate in research workshops and network over coffee and lunch in the impressive environs of UCM’s Nunnery campus.

Details for the 2024 Research Festival coming soon (save the date Friday 18th October 2024). You can also watch highlights and content from the 2023 and 2022 events.

UCM Talks

UCMtalks is a series of inspiring and powerful talks by experts in their respective fields, organised to create a platform for meaningful discussions on a variety of current topics and encourage sharing of new ideas and thinking.

Manx Graduate Survey

If you're a Manx graduate who has either completed their degree on-Island through us or who has chosen to study off-Island, or you're a young professional who has stayed or returned to the Island, we'd like your views about ‘The Isle of Man; a great place to live and work’. The survey is now closed and findings will be published shortly.

Biosphere Isle of Man

UCM is a proud member of the Stakeholder Partnerships Group. On Wednesday 17th April 2024, Dr Victoria Hurth, Fellow of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, will deliver the 2024 UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Lecture.
