UCM is Helping Non-English Speakers Get Connected and Confident

University College Isle of Man (UCM) is offering flexible English speaking and listening courses for those who are non-native speakers.

The aim of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course is to improve speaking and listening skills for everyday life for people whose first language is not English. The course content is flexible so it meets the individual needs of the people studying.

Students will receive a certificate from UCM at the end of the course.

Sally Ashworth, Programme Manager for Access to Education, said: “The ability to communicate effectively is a key component in helping us to stay connected and build strong personal and professional relationships. Whether you’re preparing for a job interview, wanting to help your children with their homework or just want to boost your confidence, ESOL is a great pathway to achieve this.”

The course fee is £325 and sessions run on Wednesdays 2pm-4.30pm for 20 weeks. For any course enquiries, please contact karen.smith@ucm.ac.im or call 01624 648200.
