Oastan Training Restaurant to Launch Festive Lunch Bookings at Christmas Coffee Morning

Bookings for the popular Christmas Lunches at UCM’s (University College Isle of Man) Oastan Training Restaurant will go on sale from on 22nd October at the annual Christmas Bookings Coffee Morning.

The event, which will run from 8.30am to 10.30am will give visitors the first opportunity to secure a place at the restaurant's highly anticipated Christmas lunch services while enjoying tea, coffee and festive cake in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Oastan Training Restaurant's Christmas lunches have become a seasonal favourite, combining delicious festive dining with the opportunity to support students as they develop their skills in a professional restaurant environment.

Guests attending the Coffee Morning will be able to learn more about the festive menus, meet members of the hospitality team and be among the first to reserve tables for this year's Christmas dining dates.

The festive menus will be created using locally sourced produce wherever possible, celebrating the best of Island ingredients while delivering a traditional Christmas dining experience with a contemporary touch.

In the kitchen, students will prepare and serve the festive menu under the expert supervision of Chef Lecturer Robert Hunter, who has worked in world-class restaurants around the world, including the renowned Goring Hotel in London, alongside Irene Berry, an accomplished pastry chef who previously worked under Jason Atherton at Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social in Mayfair, London.

Front-of-house students will welcome and serve guests under the guidance of Tracey Conway, whose professional background includes experience working in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The hands-on experience gained through the festive lunch services plays a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in hospitality and catering.
