Will I need any specific resources, uniform and/or kit?

No, you will not need any specific uniform or kit.

What are the days and hours of the course?

This course runs on an evening between 5pm – 8pm for 30 weeks. The day of the week will be confirmed with you.

Will I undertake a work placement as part of the course?

No, however you will have lots of opportunities to build employability skills, and your lecturers have worked in the industry, which means you will benefit from their experience.

What are my progression and career options?

After completing the SEG Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills, many learners choose to progress to the SEG Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which prepares learners for professional practice.

For those not continuing into Level 4, this qualification still provides valuable, transferable skills. Many learners apply their enhanced communication, empathy, and reflective practice abilities in fields such as:

• Community support

• Mental health and wellbeing services

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, though holding a Level 2 qualification in counselling skills is recommended.

All applicants will attend an interview to discuss the course content and ensure the programme is the right fit for your goals and readiness to learn.
