University College Isle of Man (UCM) has introduced a new ‘Drone Flying for Beginners’ course to its Adult Learning ‘Upskilling’ programme.
Running as part of UCM's ‘Upskilling’ offering, this interactive course is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to fly drones safely and responsibly, all while having fun and meeting likeminded people.
The three-hour course led by UCM Computing Lecturer and experienced drone operator, Kieran Watts, will cover both theoretical and practical lessons on drone operation, including key topics such as: Local Legal and Regulatory Knowledge, Safety Procedures and Basic Practical Flying Skills.
Kieran said, ‘This is the perfect opportunity to dip your toes into the exciting world of drones, whether you’re a hobbyist, aspiring photographer or someone simply looking for an exciting and rewarding new skill.
Upon finishing the course, participants will be awarded with a certificate of completion, verifying their competence in both theoretical and practical aspects of drone operation. Whilst designing this course, I have been in touch with the Isle of Man Civil Aviation Administration the CAA, who have stated that the course has been reviewed and accepted.’
