Level 2 Engineering and Manufacturing
What is the Course About?
This Level 2 Extended Certificate is aimed at those who wish to progress to an engineering apprenticeship from local industry and is designed to provide them with a practical understanding of a broad range of engineering activities.
There are 4 mandatory units and five specialist units which all candidates will study. Units are a mixture of theory and practice.

No
Will I need any specific resources, uniform and/or kit?
No, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
What are the days and hours of the course?
Your timetable will be issued during induction at the start of term in early September. As a full time course you will be expected to study for 3 days per week during college term time. You will be expected to attend the William Kennish Engineering Centre on Greenfield Road.

What are my progression and career options?
The qualification gives learners a broad base of most fundamental principles of engineering and allows them to develop a range of practical engineering skills to prepare them for employment or to move onto an apprenticeship programme in that area. Successful completion of all the elements can lead to Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Engineering.
How will I be assessed?
The mandatory and principles units are assessed by on-line multi-choice exams or written examination. The practical units are assessed by a practical assignments.
Entry requirements
GCSE Grade D in Maths, Science and English or achieved a L2 Pass in OCR Cambridge Nationals in Engineering.
