Free panel event for employers.

Whatever sector you're in, whether you’re a business who already has an apprenticeship scheme or something that you haven’t tried for recruiting new talent into your business, this event is ideal for you.

Through the interactive event, a panel of local industry experts will share their experience of the benefits of apprenticeship schemes for their organisations. The panel represents a wide range of industries including:

  • Peter Reid, who is Chair of Skills Isle of Man and Former Island Director and Head of Banking Operations at Lloyds Bank
  • Sarah Mercer, Co-founder and Director at Earthscope
  • Christopher Hood, Engineering Manager at Triumph
  • Paul Irving, Director of Education and Head of the School of Nursing at Health for Manx Care
  • Amy Moore, Programme Leader of Cybersecurity at UCM

The panel will also include Olly Newton who is the Executive Director at Edge Foundation and has spent 12 years at the UK’s Department for Education, most recently as Head of Apprenticeship Strategy. Olly was also Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords Committee on Youth Unemployment and a Commissioner on the Independent Assessment Commission.

The event is a collaboration of Skills Isle of Man, UCM, The Department of Education, Sport and Culture and the Department for Enterprise (DFE) who have joined forces for National Apprenticeship Week (NAW25), aiming to highlight the benefits apprenticeship schemes have for businesses.
